Pineville native and graduating senior Allison Lawrence came to UL Lafayette to pursue a degree in marketing with a concentration in legal studies after transferring her Junior Year from Louisiana Tech.

During her time at UL Lafayette, Lawrence has been active in several on campus organizations. Along with a fellow student, Lawrence helped to found the campus chapter of Habitat for Humanity and made it an official organization in the Fall 2015 semester.

Lawrence also worked to bring Circle K International, a collegiate service organization and a branch of the Kiwanis Club back to UL Lafayette. Already having experience with CKI at Louisiana Tech, Lawrence was adamant to reactivate CKI at UL Lafayette. The club now has 26 paid members that regularly volunteer around Acadiana.

Lawrence also enjoys helping animals on campus and in the local community. She is currently a member of Campus Cats and a volunteer for Boudreaux’s Animal Rescue Krewe, an animal shelter in Alexandria, La.

After graduation, Lawrence plans to attend Loyola University’s College of Law in New Orleans beginning in the Fall 2016 semester, where she has been granted an 85 percent merit-based scholarship. To prepare for a future in law, Lawrence has participated in mock trials for real local criminal cases through the local attorney’s office. Lawrence’s future career goal is to use her background in business and law to work in a corporate legal advisory role in Louisiana.
