Jake Wharton is the Spring 2019 Outstanding Graduate for the B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration Department of Economics and Finance. He is a finance major with a minor in accounting and has a 3.7 GPA.

Wharton has been on the President’s List and Dean’s List. He is the recipient of several scholarships including the JP Morgan Chase Endowment Scholarship, William Brady III Endowed Scholarship, TOPS Opportunity Award, and TOPS Honors Award.

He was a member of the UL Lafayette baseball team from 2015-2016 and was on the student athlete advisory committee in 2016. His community service activities include volunteering at the Missionaries of Charity as a tutor for underprivileged children, raising money for Christmas presents for underprivileged children, working with the UL Lafayette Big Event, and coaching middle school baseball.

After graduation, Wharton plans to enter the IBERIABANK management development program, obtain his CPA and pursue his MBA degree.

He is the son of Scott and Bridget Wharton of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
