The National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) has ranked the Department of Accounting at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette as one of the top programs in the country, based on student performance on the CPA examination. Among large accounting programs (those with 60 or more candidates taking the exam), UL Lafayette graduates ranked 21st nationally for the 2011 testing period. Overall, NASBA’s recently released 2011 Uniform CPA Examination found UL Lafayette’s pass rate for first time exam candidates ranked 39th nationally.

“These results are a significant accomplishment, reflecting the commitment of our students and the dedication of our outstanding faculty,” said Dr. Joby John, Dean of the B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration.

The Department of Accounting is part of the B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration, which is accredited by the prestigious Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International. The Department received separate Accounting accreditation from the AACSB in 2011, one of fewer than 200 accounting departments in the world to be so recognized.
