On August 12, Moody Hall was complete with UL Lafayette President Joseph Savoie, Louisiana business colleges deans and members of Louisiana Economic Development (LED) staff from state and local levels.  The morning began with a candid meet and greet and then quickly to business. Mr. Secretary Stephen Moret spoke on "economic development priorities and the role of universities, particularly, business colleges in the economic development of the state." The discussions were filled with examples and solutions for how they could aide in stimulating the state’s economy.  Ms. Karen Denby, a Board of Regents staff member, guided the second-half of discussions concerning the transfer of a 2 year Associate's Degree to a 4 year college of business program in Louisiana. Overall, the assembly of this group of leaders resulted in constructive knowledge and ideas on Louisiana's present and future economic development.
