Marilyn Gastineau, a BSAT department Instructor, was elected as the President-Elect of the Louisiana Association for Career and Technology Education (LACTE) while representing Business Education on the Executive Board.

The mission of the organization is to provide educational leadership to secondary and postsecondary educators in developing a competitive workforce through Leadership and Program Improvement, Knowledge Connectivity, Public Awareness, and Professional Development.  LACTE is an organization of Career & Technical Educational Professionals working together for the betterment of instruction and training for the students to meet the needs for Global employment.  LACTE includes 10 educational divisions – Administration, Agriscience, Business Education, Family and Consumer Sciences, Guidance, Health Science Technology, Marketing Education, New and Related Services, Technology Education, and Trade and Industrial Education.
