MCOBA Student Ambassadors

The B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration is establishing a Student Ambassadors Program, beginning in Fall 2026.

KEY DATES:

  • August 24-28, first week of classes - Connect with SGA, classes & student organizations to promote Student Ambassadors
  • by August 26 - Application form goes live
  • September 18- Applications due
  • September 29 - Inaugural class of MCOBA Ambassadors selected & announced
     
  • September 30 - Ambassadors introduced to the College's Executive Advisory Council to begin brainstorming the year and the future
     

Mission: The mission of the MCOBA Student Ambassadors Program is to develop effective communicators, leaders and representatives of the B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration. MCOBA Student Ambassadors strive to educate other current students, potential students and the public about the importance of business education in today’s economy, about the various potential careers available to today’s business students and about succeeding withing the College.
 

Membership: The MCOBA Student Ambassadors will be an interdisciplinary community of business students, interacting with other business majors, faculty and alumni in various forums.
 

  • Students will apply to become MCOBA Student Ambassadors at the beginning of each Fall and Spring semester.
  • Applicants should be open-minded, eager to grow and eager to represent the B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration.
  • Applicants should have a 2.50 cumulative GPA or higher
     
  • The College’s goal is to have 20-25 Ambassadors at a given time, with at least one student from each of the College’s eight majors.
  • The College will sponsor one ‘Ambassadors Retreat’ at the beginning of each semester.
  • Students will receive recognition at graduation if they attend each retreat and a majority of the events they are invited to across at least 2 semesters.

 
Expectations & Benefits:

Because this program is brand new, you - the Student Ambassadors - will be able to largely create your roles and impact, helping College Leadership in a variety of ways that you believe are meaningful.

As a starting point, MCOBA Student Ambassadors are expected to or invited to:

  • Represent the College at Preview Days for incoming students (generally 7:30-11:30am on 3-4 Saturdays a semester) (plus one Junior Day in Spring).
  • Represent the College at various events at local high schools, including signing days, dual enrollment programs and other events.
  • Mentor and possibly tutor other students in their majors.
  • Represent the College on social media, including in recruiting, informational and tutoring videos and other media.
  • Represent the College at periodic events, including Homecoming week (October), Moody Business week (March), commencement events and other University events
  • Advise the Dean’s office and College leadership on other student-centric issues, including (but not limited to): curricular innovation, career planning resources, alumni engagement, extracurricular activities and other engagement as appropriate.
  • Consult with the Dean’s office on the College’s Strategic Plan, including advising on goals, objectives and tactics within the Strategic Plan.
     
  • The expected time commitment for each semester might be 15-30 hours, per amassadors.
     
  • Because MCOBA Student Ambassadors are representatives for both the College and the University, they are held to high standards of professionalism and may be removed at the discretion of the College leadership team.


MCOBA Student Ambassadors will enjoy the following benefits:
