Ellie Spain has been chosen as the Outstanding MBA Graduate Award recipient for the B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration. Spain is an MBA graduate with a Pre-Doctoral and Research Concentration. With a cumulative GPA of 3.92, she serves as the President of the MBA Association and has also served the organization as Vice President. Spain has served as the MBA representative as well as the secretary and treasurer for the Graduate Student Organization. During her time in the MBA program, Spain has attended the Mid-south Management Research Consortium and the Southern Management Association Annual Conference. She is also the recipient of the Agnes K. Godchaux Scholarship.

In additional to her UL Lafayette involvement, Spain is also very active in other organizations. She is currently the Vice Chair of Habitat Young Professionals and Chair of the Pavilion Tent at Festival International. She has also been involved in the Young University Professionals Association as well as the Information Technology Advisory Committee.

Spain is currently the Social Media Graduate Assistant in the Communications and Marketing Office. She has worked as the Student Engagement & Leadership’s Administrative Assistant as well as the Bookkeeper at Dockside Studio. Spain has applied to doctoral programs for Management across the United States, and she anticipates pursuing a Ph. D. and then beginning a career in academia. She hopes to continue the research that she has begun and contribute to the body of knowledge around the Dualistic Model of Passion.

She is the daughter of Lisa and Steve Spain and Kathy and Don Shinaut.
